Set in the American South, The Notebook follows the lifelong romance of Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who come from different worlds but find each other in a love story that transcends social and economic differences and spans decades, with three actors playing Noah & Allie throughout their lives - from their youth to their elder years. With so much keeping them apart - war, illness, and societal expectation - can their love stand the test of time?
The musical features a book by Bekah Brunstetter and music & lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson. Co-Directed by Schele Williams and five-time tony award nominee Michael Grief, The Notebook features choreography by Katie Spelman, set design by David Zinn and Brett J. Banakis, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Ben Stanton, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.

The show features music and lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson and a book by Bekah Brunstetter, based on Nicholas Sparks' 1996 novel that also inspired the 2004 movie starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling of the same name.
The production is directed by Michael Greif and Schele Williams, with choreography by Katie Spelman. The principal cast included Jordan Tyson as Young Allie, Joy Woods as Middle Allie, and Maryann Plunkett as Older Allie; John Cardoza as Young Noah, Ryan Vasquez as Middle Noah, and Dorian Harewood as Older Noah.
Prior to its Broadway debut, The Notebook had a workshop at Vassar College's Powerhouse Theater in June 2019 and its world premiere at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater in September 2022.
