Based on the hit animated film, Disney’s Aladdin is set in the fictional town of Agrabah and tells the daring adventure of Aladdin, a street urchin whose life changes when he finds a magical lamp and meets a genie who grants him three wishes. The Olivier Award-winning Best New Musical, Back to the Future: The Musical, brings the 1985 Academy Award-winning film of the same name to The Winter Garden Theatre in New York City and is changing the course of musical theatre history! 

 

When Marty McFly accidentally gets transported back in time to 1955 in a time machine built inside a DeLorean by his friend, the eccentric scientist Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown, he meets his parents and inadvertently disrupts how they met, endangering his own existence and the entire future. Marty McFly must now race against the clock to ensure his parents fall in love, and find a way to escape the past and send himself… back to the future. 

 

Back to The Future: The Musical features a book by Bob Gale (who wrote the original screenplay with Robert Zemeckis) and a score by Alan Silvestri & Glen Ballard. It is directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando.

 

Alan Silvestri is a Grammy and Emmy winner and a two-time Academy Award nominee who has composed scores for over 100 films, including the Back to The Future series, Forrest GumpThe Polar Express, and The Avengers. Glen Ballard is a six-time Grammy Award winner who has written and produced songs for countless artists including Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, and Michael Jackson. His previous Broadway musical credits include GHOST The Musical and Jagged Little Pill based off the Grammy award-winning album of the same name he wrote with Alanis Morissette. Together they have written original music to bring Back To The Future to the stage, along with hit songs featured in the film like “The Power of Love”, “Earth Angel”, “Johnny B. Goode” and “Back in Time.”

Back To The Future: The Musical premiered in February 2020 at the Manchester Opera House, and transferred to The Adelphi Theatre on The West End in September 2021 where it is currently running. The Broadway production opened on June 30, 2023 in New York City at The Winter Garden Theatre with Roger Bart and Hugh Coles from the original London returning in the roles of Doc Emmett Brown and George McFly, respectively. Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood, Cabaret will transport you from New York City to the Kit Kat Club, a seedy nightclub in Berlin where you will be greeted by Emcee, the Master of Ceremonies. Cabaret is set at the end of the 1920s in Weimar-era Berlin as American writer Cliff Bradshaw arrives to work on his novel and soak up the debaucherous nightlife. He meets cabaret performer Sally Bowles and they develop a relationship as the Nazis ascend to power and World War II looms on the horizon.  Cabaret features a timeless score by Kander & Ebb including songs like "Willkommen," “Maybe This Time,” "Cabaret," and "Tomorrow Belongs to Me."

Now in its record breaking 27th year on Broadway, Chicago continues to razzle and dazzle audiences in New York and around the world.

 

Fading vaudeville star Velma Kelly is in prison for murdering her husband. Chicago’s best lawyer, Billy Flynn, is set to defend her until aspiring chorus girl Roxie Hart winds up in prison for killing her lover. He takes on both their cases and Roxie and Velma are thrown into a media circus of headlines, each vying for the spotlight, turning these murderesses into rivals in a fight against each other for fame and fortune. 

 

Based on the 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins (in turn based on the real life 1924 murder trails of Beulah Annan and Belva Gaertner in the Chicago Tribune,) Chicago premiered on Broadway in 1975 with music and lyrics by John Kander & Fred Ebb, and Book, Choreography, and Direction from the legendary Bob Fosse. 

 

The record-breaking revival which continues to run today opened in 1996 with direction by Walter Bobbie and Choreography by Anne Reinking (in the style of Bob Fosse) and is still receiving standing ovations even after playing over 10,500 performances. The casting of Chicago changes often, and many of your favorite stars regularly get cast for limited runs. Six: The Musical began in 2016 as a project by Toby Marlow & Lucy Moss for the Cambridge University Musical Theater Society. The show premiered the following year in 2017 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a cast of students from Cambridge University. Moss & Marlow took inspiration from real-life pop princesses for musical inspiration for each of the queens.

Wicked is based on the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which is in turn based on L. Frank Baum’s 1990 novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and the 1939 film adaptation starring Judy Garland. The musical follows Elphaba, who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and Galinda, who becomes Glinda the Good before and after Dorothy arrives in Oz. 

 

Wicked was written by composer and lyricists, Stephen Schwartz and book writer Winnie Holzman. The production was first performed from May 28, 2003 through June 29, 2003 at the Curran Theater in San Francisco. The cast included Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda, Idina Menzel as Elphaba, Robert Morse as the Wizard, Norbert Leo Butz as Fiyero, Michelle Federer as Nessarose, Carole Shelley as Madame Morrible, John Horton as Doctor Dillamond, and Kirk McDonald as Boq. The production featured direction by Joe Mantello, Choreography by Wayne Cilento, and designs by Eugene Lee (Sets), Susan Hilferty (costumes), and Kenneth Posner (lights.)

 

Later that year, the production transferred to Broadway and Officially opened at the Gershwin Theater in New York City on October 30, 2003 where it has since played over 8000 performances. Most of the original production team and cast members remained with the show. Principal casting changes included Joel Grey as the Wizard, William Youmans as Doctor Dillamond and Christopher Fitzgerald as Boq.

In 2013, JK Rowling announced that a stage play based in the Harry Potter world was in development. In 2015, the play was announced that it would be set 19 years after deathly hallows and premiere in London in July 2016. JK Rowling conceived the story for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with playwright Jack Thorne, and director John Tiffany. The original cast featured Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger, Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley, Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter, Alex Price as Draco Malfoy, Sam Clemmett as Albus Severus Potter, and Anthony Boyle as Scorpius Malfoy - who all reprised their roles when the production transferred to the Lyric Theatre in New York and opened on Broadway in 2018. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has also had productions in San Francisco, USA, Melbourne, Australia, and Toronto, Canada. 

 

Originally written as two parts to be seen over two subsequent performances, it was shortened to one part after the covid pandemic. The only production still in its original 2 part format is in London.

Recipient of the 1943 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Thornton Wilder’s visionary masterpiece THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH illuminates the endurance of the human spirit as it follows the Antrobus family of Excelsior, New Jersey, as they persevere through an Ice Age, a biblical flood, and war.

The production coincided with the 125th anniversary of Mr. Wilder’s birth and will mark the Beaumont and Broadway debuts of LCT Resident Director Lileana Blain-Cruz.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

Set in Alabama in 1934, Harper Lee’s enduring story of racial injustice and childhood innocence centers on one of the most venerated characters in American literature, the small-town lawyer Atticus Finch. The cast of characters includes Atticus’s daughter Scout, her brother Jem, their housekeeper and caretaker, Calpurnia, their visiting friend Dill, and a mysterious neighbor, the reclusive Arthur “Boo” Radley. Adapted for the stage by Aaron Sorkin, directed by Bartlett Sher.

TOPDOG/UNDERDOG

Topdog/Underdog, Suzan-Lori Parks’ Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, returns to Broadway for its 20th Anniversary Production. This all-new production stars Tony Award® nominee Corey Hawkins (In the Heights, The Tragedy of Macbeth) and Emmy® Award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen (Watchmen, Candyman), and is directed by Tony winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun). Topdog/Underdog is a darkly comic fable of brotherly love and family identity and tells the story of two brothers, Lincoln (Hawkins) and Booth (Abdul-Mateen II), names given to them as a joke by their father. Haunted by the past and their obsession with the street con game, three-card monte, the brothers come to learn the true nature of their history.

Uncle Vanya

Sonya (Alison Pill) and her uncle Vanya (Steve Carell) have devoted their lives to managing the family farm in isolation, but when her celebrated, ailing father (Alfred Molina) and his charismatic wife (Anika Noni Rose) move in, their lives are upended. In the heat of the summer, the wrong people fall in love, desires and resentments erupt, and the family is forced to reckon with the ghosts of their unlived lives.

Director Lila Neugebauer and playwright Heidi Schreck collaborate on the premiere of this Lincoln Center Theater production of UNCLE VANYA, which pairs Chekhov's enduring masterpiece with one of America's most celebrated contemporary playwrights in a strikingly immediate new translation.

WALKING WITH GHOSTS

Gabriel Byrne's Walking with Ghosts comes to Broadway for 75 performances only. Adapted by Gabriel Byrne from his best-selling memoir of the same name, and directed by Emmy award-winning director Lonny Price, Walking with Ghosts is by turns hilarious and heartbreaking, a lyrical homage to the people and landscapes that ultimately shape our destinies.
